9:30 am Hiking on the Trabucchi coast, a 10 km itinerary along the coast, close to the sea.

The trabucco is an old fishing machine typical of the coast of Gargano, where it is protected as historical monuments by the homonym National Park. It is a massive construction built from wood, which consists of a platform anchored to the rock by large logs of pine of Aleppo, jutting out into the sea, from where two (or more) long arms called antennae stretch out suspended some feet above the water and supporting a huge, narrow-meshed, net (called trabocchetto). Some of them are still working.

The path does not show any difference in height because we will walk along the shore of the sea. Packed lunch organized by the hotel and integrated with typical Cilento products. In the afternoon we will take a walk into the historic center of Vieste through the alleys and the stairs.

Tirrenia Ferry to reach the Tremiti Islands starting from Vieste / Peschici / Termoli. Journey time about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The Tremiti Islands have been defined as the pearls of the Adriatic Sea because of their inestimable beauty. It is an archipelago consisting of the islands of St. Nicholas, San Domino, Cretaccio, Caprara and Pianosa. The day includes a visit to the historic center of the island of San Nicola and the boat tour among the other islets and the suggestive caves of the archipelago. There will be a chance to take a swim.

Return to Vieste by the ferry in the late afternoon.

9:30 am Transfer with private minibus to the Umbra Forest.

We will make a 10km circuit  walk that will allow us to enter into the thick vegetation typical of the Umbra Forest. It is a protected natural area of ​​the Gargano National Park, an actual wild forest.

In the afternoon we will head towards the small seaside village of Peschici, visit the historic center and walk through the typical alleys.

9:30 am Check-out and transfer with private minibus to Rionero in Vulture, Basilicata.

Late morning dedicated to wine tasting at “Le Cantine del Notaio”, a local and national excellence. The tasting will be accompanied by cheeses and salami typical of the Lucania area.

In the afternoon, visit to the historic center of Melfi and walk to the Monticchio Lakes.

5:30 pm Transfer with private minibus to Matera. Arrival and check-in at the hotel.

Visit of Matera, Unesco World Heritage and European Capital 2019, one of the oldest cities in the world. It is also the city of the Sassi, the original urban nucleus, developed from the natural caves excavated in the rock and later modeled in increasingly complex structures within two great natural amphitheatres.

9:30 am Check-out and transfer with private minibus to Pietrapertosa.

We are in one of the most fascinating places of Basilicata, the Lucan Dolomites. Mountains with a very special shape that ran out of the sea millions of years ago. Our route will start right from Pietrapertosa and through a path called “Seven Stone Trail”, we will reach the beautiful village of Castelmezzano. The route, about 7 km long, was made inspired by the stories handed down by local tradition and collective imagination.

Here, depending on the climatic conditions and the attendance of the participants, there will be the possibility of flying, the famous Flight of Angel, a steel cable suspended between the peaks of two towns. Fully secured by a special harness and hooked to a steel cable, the visitor will be able to experience the flight euphoria for a few minutes. (Extra activity!!!)

Walk through the alleys of Castelmezzano.

The day involves a busy hike on Mount Pollino, about 13 km long and with a significant difference in height of about 700 meters.

It is one of the highest peaks of the Apennine, 2248 meters, from which it is named the largest National Park in Italy: the National Park of Mount Pollino.

Wild and uncontaminated nature, the Park is a treasure chest guarding the true riches of biodiversity. On the summit we will have the chance to see the giants Loricati Pines, which grow lonely on the hardest walls and arre a real living fossil.

The program includes a fun activity on the Lao River, Rafting, which will allow us to see the gorgeous gorges excavated by this river with the help of well-prepared local guides.

9:30 am A 7 km hike on the path from the historic center of Maratea leads to the Redeemer, the second largest statue of Christ, overlooking the sea, on the top of the mountain. The trail offers stunning and breathtaking views.

Last dinner all together and walk into the historic center of Maratea for a drink.
